Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

Financial Year Ending 31 December 2025. Published pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

1. Our Organisation and Supply Chains

Jones Knowles Ritchie Limited (JKR) is a global brand design agency specialising in brand strategy,identity, experience, packaging and design. We have offices in London and New York, and we workwith some of the world's most recognised brands across a range of sectors.

We employ approximately 300 people worldwide, the majority of whom are based in our London headquarters. Our services are primarily creative and professional in nature.

Our supply chains fall broadly into the following categories:

  • Creative and production suppliers — including print, packaging production, photography, film and post-production studios;
  • Freelance and contract creative professionals — designers, artworkers, copywriters and brand consultants;
  • Technology and software providers — digital tools, platforms and IT infrastructure;
  • Facilities and office management — including cleaning, catering, maintenance and building management;
  • Professional services — legal, financial, recruitment and other advisory services.

We recognise that while our direct operations carry a relatively lower risk of modern slavery due to the professional and creative nature of our work, risk may nonetheless exist in certain parts of our supply chain — particularly in production, facilities and any supply chains involving labour-intensive processes or geographies with weaker labour protections.

2. Our Policies on Slavery and Human Trafficking

JKR has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in all its forms — including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.

Our approach is underpinned by the following policies and commitments:

Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

Our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy sets out our responsibilities and those of persons working for us or on our behalf. It provides guidance on identifying and reporting concerns, and applies to all employees, directors, officers, agency workers, interns, agents, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives and business partners.

Whistleblowing Policy

We are committed to ensuring that all individuals working for us can raise concerns without fear of retaliation. Our whistleblowing procedures allow employees and third parties to report concerns about modern slavery or any other unethical conduct confidentially. We commit to ensuring no one suffers detriment for raising a genuine concern in good faith.

Recruitment and Employment Practices

We operate fair and transparent recruitment practices. We verify the right to work for all employees and do not use or knowingly engage with any business that uses forced, child or unlawful labour. We pay at or above the National Living Wage and comply with all applicable employment legislation.

3. Due Diligence Processes

We carry out the following due diligence activities to identify and address modern slavery risks across our business and supply chains:

Contractual Protections

Our standard engagement terms for freelance and contract creative professionals include anti- slavery and anti-human trafficking obligations. These suppliers are required to warrant that they comply with all applicable laws in relation to modern slavery and to flow down equivalent obligations to their own sub-contractors and suppliers.

For technology and software providers, facilities management suppliers and professional services providers, we engage on supplier standard terms but verify that appropriate modern slavery compliance wording is included in all contracts.

Internal Controls

Procurement at JKR is carried out at a departmental level, reflecting our creative agency structure. Responsibility for ensuring compliance with our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy in supplier relationships sits with the relevant department lead at the point of engagement. However, our Talent and Legal teams provide guidance and support on compliance obligations as required.

4. Risk Assessment and Management

Taking into account our sector, geographic reach and the nature of our supplier relationships, we consider the following areas as presenting a lower risk of modern slavery:

  • Our directly employed workforce, who are subject to robust employment contracts, UK and US employment law protections, and transparent recruitment practices;
  • Our professional services supply chain, which primarily comprises large-scale, regulated companies with robust governance processes in place; and
  • Our freelance workforce is engaged exclusively through a reputable third-party platform which operates its own robust compliance framework, including modern slavery checks, right-to-work verification and governance processes. We consider this to materially reduceour exposure to modern slavery risk in this part of our workforce.

We consider the following areas as presenting a higher or elevated risk:

  • Print and production supply chains — particularly where production takes place overseas or involves labour-intensive manufacturing processes;
  • Facilities management and cleaning services, which are known higher-risk sectors for labour exploitation; and
  • Any supplier relationship involving operations in higher-risk geographies as identified by the Global Slavery Index and relevant government guidance.

We will continue to monitor and assess any changes to these categorisations, and in turn the prioritisation of our due diligence activities going forward.

5. Training and Awareness

We recognise the importance of ensuring that our people understand the risks of modern slavery and their responsibilities in identifying and reporting concerns. Our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy sets out our expectations of all staff in identifying and escalating concerns, and our whistleblowing channel is available to all employees and workers.

6. Measuring Effectiveness

We are committed to continuously improving our approach to preventing modern slavery and to developing our ability to measure our effectiveness in this regard over time. Our reporting against key metrics will continue to mature as our processes develop, and this statement will be reviewed and updated annually to reflect progress made.
